Well, for the recent past weeks, we have been receiving several complaints regarding this.

Most of the matter revolve in "their credit lost suddenly, or the internet eat-up excessively large amount of their credit although they simply YMing"

so, here's some basic troubleshooting..

HOW MUCH IS THE NORMAL CREDIT EXPENDITURE???

After running several tight-controlled, double-blinded test with a VERY VERY CLEAN, NON-INFECTED COMPUTER, here is our conclusion :-

"When you connect to the internet service, without browsing, IM, downloading, antivirus or windows updating, the total cost should be approximately 0.05 rubles (that is 50 kopek) per hour"

so, in order to make sure what is the problem with your computer, follow this step below

STEP 1 : RUN A DIAGNOSTIC TEST

Connect to the internet. Dont open any browser, IM services (YM or MSN), make sure you are not downloading torrent, and all the update service (WIndows and AntiVirus) had been switched off prior to connecting to the internet.

Disconnect after 10 minutes.

Check in your account balance at http://192.168.3.1/stat to see the statistic about your latest connection. It shall cost no more than 0.015 rub.

If it does cost SIGNIFICANTY MORE...go to next step

STEP 2 : DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSIS

Re-check everything.
a) Have u turned off the update service?
b) Are yiou sure your YM is not automatically logged on
c) Is there any torrent downloading at the background??

then re-run the 1st step above.
If it still cost more..go to next step

STEP 3 : Install AVAST anti virus
You can get the setup file from www.avast.com or from any of internet admin in hiroshima. If you download the file directly from www.avast.com, dont worry, we will reimburse the downloading cost.

Update the virus database.

Run the "boot-scan" function

Upon "boot-scanning" 75% of the computer we had checked will have an infection at
c:windows\sys32\wkcajox.dll (Win32:Adware-gen)

Order avast to repair/move to chest.

Run step1 again. If it still cost more..go to next step..

STEP 4: Install SPYBOT Search and Destroy
You can get the setup file fromwww.spybot.com or from any of internet admin in hiroshima. If you download the file directly from www.spybot.com, dont worry, we will reimburse the downloading cost.

Update and run the scanning. This program will scan for any malware in your laptop

Common malware culprits are :

AdRevolver
BlueStreak
BurstMedia
CasaleMedia
DoubleClick
FastClick
MediaPlex
Messagemates
NSIS Media Ext
NSIS media VB
StatCounter
TrackDoubler

remove all the detected malware.

Run step 1 again. if ti still cost more, then, bring contact any of internet admin

In most cases, we will have to reformat your laptop. So please before bringing your laptop to us, it will be good if you already backup all your important data in Drive C into an external hard disk, or another partition.

How to Register for a new Internet account

Dear users,

If you wish to create a new internet account with the admin, you shall do the following:-

1. Get acquainted with our tariffs, and other info.
2. Come to the respective internet admin for that day, with 500 rubles and a pen. (*Included in the 500rubles payment is your 1st time registration payment)
3. Fill in the registration form there. (we gonna need your email, hp no)
4. Get an IP no from the admin, or pick yourself an IP number which is not listed in this list.
5. Setup the internet connection in your laptop / PC.

Username changes !!

To all Internet Users (esp for 1st year n 2nd year students)

Due to some technical errors, the "-" in your username have been changed to "_" (underscore)

So, for e.g., username "2007-34" is now "2007_34"

Please note this changes, and use the new username to connect.
This changes does not affect those username without any "-" sign in it.

TARIFF & Billing

Our Internet connection apply the pre-paid usage services. That is, all users have to top-up their account before they can use the service. The service will terminate itself when the amount in your account reach O.

The charge for Internet service consist mainly of this parts:-

1st-time registration : 150 rubles (one time only)
ABONENTSKAYA PLATA (Monthly fee) : 100 rubles / month (This amount will be deducted automatically from your account. Note however it will not be charged if you didnt use the service for the whole respective month)
Your topup amount. Tariff : 1.35 rub/MB (browse & downloads), you can topup according to this schedule

Setting up Internet connection for Windows XP

AN IDIOT GUIDE TO SETUP YOUR INTERNET CONNECTION (For WinXP)

Of course 1st of all you'll need to create an account with the admin. Please come to the respective admin according to the day, bringing along with you 500 rubles and a pen.

1st step - Setting up Your Manual I.P.

• Click START-> CONNECT TO->SHOW ALL CONNECTION
• Right click “Local Area Connection”->PROPERTIES->Select “Internet Protocol TCP/IP”->Click “PROPERTIES”
• You will see a new window pops-up

Pick any no in the range from (12 - 255) that is NOT listed here. Then NOTIFY US about the number that you have choosen (see the instruction). The number also might have been given to you by the administrator.

Enter these DATA..

IP address : 192.168.3.XXX (where "xxx" is the number that you have choosen/given to)

Subnet mask : 255.255.255.0
Default gateway: - leave it blank-
Preferred DNS server : 213.234.0.2
Alternate DNS server : 213.234.2.6

2nd Step- . Creating a connection to the server

• Click START-> CONNECT TO->SHOW ALL CONNECTION
• Click “File” - > New connection
• A wizard window will appear ->click next->choose “Connect to the network at my workplace”->choose “Virtual Private Connection”
• Type company name as “Internet”->”Do not dial initial connection”->put host name as “ 192.168.3.1”->click Finish
• A new icon name “internet” will appear.Double click, insert your name & password (from your account)

3rd step - Account Activation

Notify me about the IP no you have choosen to activate your accout. Include your name & IP and send SMS to +79197904360 / email to : helmi.volgo@gmail.com

4th Step - Connecting to the Internet

You’re ready to connect to the net!! Just ensure you have opened an account and still have a valid credit amount to online.

Click START -> Connect to -> Internet
Key in your username and password which you have registered with the admin

Setting up Internet connection for Windows VISTA.

1st step - Come to the respective internet admin for that day, with 500 rubles and a pen.

2nd step - Create a new internet account and fill in the registration form. Hand in the payment

3rd step - Setting up your laptop / PC with Windows Vista

*Windows VISTA is not fully compatible with current Russian IP hardware. Thus, you will experience some lagging or disconnectivity. Moreoever, the setup steps are a little bit hassle, and you have to follow each step PRECISELY.

3.1 - SETTING UP YOUR IP NO

1. Click Start-.> Connect to
2. Click "Open Network and Sharing Centre" (located at bottom) , a new window will appear
3. Click "Manage Network Connections" (located at the left-side panel), a new window will appear
4. Right click on ("Local Area Connection" -if you use wired connection) or ("Wireless Network Connection"-if you use wireless connection)

3. Select PROPERTIES, select CONTINUE
4. Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) -> Click PROPERTIES
5. Pick any no in the range from (12 - 255) that is NOT listed here. Then NOTIFY US about the number that you have choosen (see the instruction)

6. Click "Use the following IP address"

Fill in this details : -

IP address : 192.168.3.xxx (where "xxx" is the number that you have choosen)
Subnet mask : 255.255.255.0
Default gateway: leave blank

Preferred DNS server : 213.234.0.2
Alternated DNS server : 213.234.2.6

7. Click OK

3.2 Setting up the VPN Connection

1. Click START -> Connect TO

2. Click "Set Up a connection or network"

3. Select "Connect to a workplace- Set up a dial-up or VPN connection to your workplace" (The last option in the list)

4. Click "Use my Internet Connection (VPN)"

5. Click "I'll set up an Internet connection later"

6. Fill in this info : -

Internet address : 192.168.3.1

Destination name : Internet

Click "Next"

7. On the next form, leave everything blank and simply click "CREATE"

8. Now, click START -> Connect to

9. You will see "internet" in the list. Right click on it and select "PROPERTIES"

10. Click the "Networking" tab

11. Uncheck the Internet Protocol Version 6

12. Check the Internet Protocol Version 4 and select it. Click PROPERTIES

13. Click "Use the following DNS server adrress"

14. Fill in this details:

IP address : leave blank

Preferred DNS server : 213.234.0.2
Alternated DNS server : 213.234.2.6

15. Click OK

4th step - Account Activation

Notify me about the IP no you have choosen to activate your accout. Include your name & IP and send SMS to +79197904360 / email to : helmi.volgo@gmail.com

5th step - You're ready to connect to the Internet

5.1 Click START-> Connect to

Make sure you are connected to any wireless router or access point within the list (only for wireless user)

If you're using wired connection, make sure u plug in the internet wire

5.2 Select "Internet-VPN Connection" in the list. Key in your username and password that u have registered with the admin in 2nd step (see above)

5.3 You're ready to surf the net. Just open your browser, or start chatting with your IM.

In case u need to change your IP no, please contact your admin

*from time to time, this list will be updated
*in case you find out that your IP no is not included in this list.Please NOTIFY us by sending a message in the "comment section". This is important, since if we thought the IP no is free, we might register it to other user, and you will end up unable to connect to the internet
